Some CTQP Qualifications require a proficiency exam in addition to a written exam. A proficiency exam is a practical exam developed to verify technicians can perform field testing functions as required by the specific CTQP Qualification.

It is common for most technicians to take the written and proficiency exam the same day. However, if needed, technicians may take the exams up to 6 months apart. Any time frame beyond 6 months would require both exams to be retaken.
